We place the pupil’s voice at the centre of decisions about their education and support. Pupils are encouraged to explain their strengths, interests, concerns and preferred ways of learning in a manner appropriate to their age and communication needs. They contribute to setting and reviewing personal outcomes and are asked what is helping them and what could be improved. Staff may use conversations, observations, visual prompts or other communication approaches to ensure that every pupil can participate meaningfully. Pupils are supported to understand the help they receive, recognise their progress and develop confidence, independence and self-advocacy.
