All pupils are entitled to access a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum. Teachers use high-quality inclusive teaching and adapt lessons in response to individual strengths and needs. Adaptations may include breaking learning into smaller steps, changing the pace or level of support, pre-teaching vocabulary, using visual prompts, practical resources or assistive technology, providing additional processing time, adjusting the learning environment and offering targeted individual or small-group work. Reasonable adjustments are planned so that pupils can participate in lessons, visits, clubs and wider school life. Where specialist advice is provided, staff incorporate recommended approaches and review their impact.
