At Adderley Primary School, we recognise that parents and carers know their children best and are central to effective SEND support. We involve families from the earliest stage when a concern is identified and invite them to share their knowledge, views and aspirations. Parents and carers contribute to assessments, agree outcomes and help plan the provision recorded for their child. Class teachers and the SENDCo maintain regular communication through meetings, telephone calls, written updates and review discussions. Support is considered through the Assess, Plan, Do, Review cycle and families are informed about progress, the impact of interventions and any proposed changes. We also signpost parents and carers to relevant local services, guidance and external support where appropriate.
