Year 1’s Magical Eid-ul-Fitr Assembly – “Looking for the Moon”
Today, our Year 1 children captivated parents and carers with a delightful and heartwarming performance of their Eid-ul-Fitr assembly, centered around a special drama titled “Looking for the Moon.”
The hall was buzzing with excitement as the young performers took to the stage, retelling the story of a family eagerly awaiting the sighting of the new moon—an important tradition that signals the end of Ramadan and the start of Eid celebrations. The children played the roles of family members, from curious little brothers and sisters to wise grandparents, each full of personality and charm.
The drama followed the family as they gathered on their rooftop at sunset, peering up at the sky in search of the crescent moon. Along the way, the children cleverly weaved in what they had learned about Ramadan—fasting, helping others, and showing kindness. There were moments of laughter, excitement, and touching family togetherness, all brought to life with colourful props and beautiful costumes.
As the family finally spotted the moon, the whole cast joined together in a joyful celebration. This moment was met with applause from proud parents as the children danced and sang a special Eid nasheed, sharing their happiness with everyone in the room.
We are so proud of our Year 1 pupils for their confident performances, and for bringing such a meaningful story to life on stage.
A big thank you to the Year 1 team for their dedication in preparing such a meaningful and inclusive event, and to all the families who joined us to celebrate. The Eid-ul-Fitr assembly was not only a wonderful learning experience for our children, but also a lovely reminder of the importance of community, understanding, and shared celebration.
We wish all our families who are celebrating a very happy and blessed Eid!
Eid Mubarak! 🌙✨
