Year 3 visited Bishops Wood today! Our day began with a joyful stroll in the woods where we explored our setting and we learnt which foods were safe to gather. As we became hungry we used Stone Age tools such as spears and fishing nets to hunt for food. When we captured our meal we worked in pairs to start a fire to cook our food.
As the day progressed there were no more animals to hunt so we needed to move camp to build shelter for the night. We used willow and mammoth skin to set up shelter. Towards the end of the day we created a cave painting using natural resources to share our experiences from the day. We had so much fun on this invaluable learning experience, as not only did we experience a day in the Stone Age but we also developed our communication, social, team working and motor neuron skills! Take a look at our pictures.
