Our teachers assess children's progress at regular intervals throughout the year. All children have personal targets to meet in each subject and their teachers design sequences of work to enable the children to achieve their targets.

Alongside teacher assessments, children are required to be tested at the end of key year groups. See below for an overview of how children at Adderley have performed in their assessments over the last three years and how these results compare with other schools nationally.

4 YEAR ATTAINMENT & PROGRESS OVERVIEW

KS2 PROGRESS MEASURES

Two levels of progress have now been replaced by a value-added measure and any amount of progress a pupil makes, contributes towards the school’s progress score.

A score of 0 means pupils in this school, on average, do about as well as KS2 as those with similar prior attainment nationally.

A positive score means pupils in this school, on average, do better at KS2 than those with similar prior attainment nationally.

A negative score means pupils in this school, on average, do worse at KS2 than those with similar prior attainment nationally. A negative score does not necessarily mean a school is below the floor.

A negative progress score does not mean that pupils did not make any progress between KS1 and KS2. It means that they made less progress than other pupils with similar prior attainment nationally.

(A school with a mathematics progress of -4 would mean that, on average, pupils in this school achieved 4 scaled score points lower in the KS2 mathematics test than other pupils with similar prior attainment nationally)
