On Friday 5th February we were privileged enough to have a very special visitor, the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Cllr Raymond Hassall, visit us. He was really impressed with the school and told children that they were the politest, best-mannered children that he had ever met!

The Lord Mayor took to the stage as part of our WE Day event and gave the children advice that they would utilise in years to come. In a motivational speech he told them “the only thing that will stop you from achieving is yourself”.

He had a tour of the school, led by the Junior Strategic Leadership Team, celebrated the children’s successes and told them that they were the “future of this city”. He took part in some Bhangra dancing with the children and thoroughly enjoyed his visit.

The ‘Radio Adderley’ pupil leaders managed to grab an exclusive interview with the Lord Mayor, which can be viewed on our SoundCloud page here.
